SUMMARY:MDBA Field Trip -- Pacheco Marsh
DESCRIPTION:Pacheco Marsh is a wetland along the Carquinez Strait\, east of Martinez\, that has been restored by the John Muir Land Trust and recently opened to the public. JMLT is giving us early access\, at 8 AM\, to facilitate the best birding. We’ll meet at the parking lot\, where there are rest rooms\, and walk the flat 2-mile loop trail out through the wetland to the open water. \nAfter Pacheco Marsh\, we may make an optional second stop at the MVSD viewing platform at McNabney Marsh. \nIt can get breezy and foggy here so bring appropriate layers. \nHike Rating: 2 – Flat\, easy loop walk of about 2 miles. There are one or two benches to rest on.\nElevation change: N/A\nLeaders: Matt Tarlach and Cheryl Abel\, mdbafieldtrips@gmail.som\nMeet: Pacheco Marsh parking lot.\nGPS: 38.030853445360215\, -122.08803004897656 \nDirections: Hwy 680 to Waterfront Road\, last exit northbound before the Benicia Bridge. Head east on Waterfront Road. In 1.4 miles the entrance to Pacheco Marsh will be on your left. \nThis trip is limited to 20 participants.
