Community Outreach

The Education Committee reaches out to the public through tabling activities at local festivals, school Science Fairs, and community events. At tabling events, volunteers share MDBA pamphlets and materials, share information about our chapter activities, and answer general birding questions. The engaging “Nest Box Game” is a crowd favorite, designed for youth, but popular with adults as well.

We table at local events including but not limited to the Ruth Bancroft Gardens Pollinator and Friends Day, Earth day events in Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, and the Martinez Beaver festival. We also from time-to-time present at area elementary and middle school Science Fair and STEAM events. Tabling events are a great way to get involved, meet other chapter members, and share our important birding and conservation message. To volunteer at a tabling event, please contact .
