Colusa Wildlife Refuge (Wild Birds Unlimited Bird Walk Series)
January 4, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
A long journey, but well worth it. Visitors report snow geese, bald eagles, white faced ibis, herons, pintails, teals, northern shovelers, and other ducks, white pelicans, grebes, ring necked pheasants, horned owls, kites, and many other raptors. Eurasian wigeons are often seen, and in the past there have even been reports of the elusive falcated duck. Most of the refuge will be seen in vehicles with short walks at several points. There is a small entrance fee per car unless you have a Duck Stamp or other pass. Leave at 8:00 am from the Wild Birds Unlimited parking lot returning approx. 4:00 pm. Carpooling encouraged. Wear layers, bring lunch and rain gear. Leader: Chick Chickering, 925-686-9231. Category 1. Donation to MDAS encouraged.
