A popular site for birding along Tomales Bay, including a hike from Heart’s Desire Beach to Indian Beach. We return uphll around the wet meadow behind Indian Beach. Some water fowl, forest birds and Osprey are possible.

Meet: Heart’s Desire Beach
Directions: After crossing the Richmond Bridge, follow US 101 north and take the Lucas Valley Road exit. Drive 10 miles to Nicasio Valley Road and turn right. Drive through Nicasio about three miles to Point Reyes Petaluma Road. Turn left and drive three miles to the stop sign and a painted bridge. Turn right for another three miles to Hwy 1. Turn left and enter Point Reyes Station. After a stop at the Bovine Bakery for coffee and pastries, continue out of town and turn right after the bridge onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Follow “the Frank” through Inverness. Just over the ridge, turn right onto Pierce Point Road. The park entrance is on the right after about one mile. Entry fee of $8 is required.
This trip is limited to 15 participants. Register for this event HERE starting on 2/20. Participants must acknowledge the MDAS Liability Waiver (available during registration).
